Patternfish, a Canadian online pattern company, approached us a few years ago regarding Straker Classics patterns that we might want to present as PDFs with them. It seemed a brilliant idea. Through the years we’ve received many requests from knitters - coast to coast - wanting certain out-of-print patterns. Patternfish bought quality equipment on which to prepare these Straker Classics PDFs and we wrote descriptions of the inspiration for each, required skill level and something about the stitches used.
These designs came about in the ‘70s and ‘80s when Mom and I were particularly prolific. Often inspired by a fabulous new yarn that came through our yarn shops’ doors, or a customer request, and always from living on Nantucket in our S’conset cottage overlooking the moors and the Atlantic Ocean. Once again these vintage patterns are available with links to Patternfish’s website for your shopping convenience.
