#811 Whit Vest
Designed for DK (heavy sport) weight yarn.

Whit is a time-honored, traditional vest for both men and women, worked on #7 needles. With panels of Stockinette and Cables, it is easy fare for the intermediate knitter. The front band, which is a long span of stitches, requires some extra attention while working the pick-up row and knitting the band in order to keep it crisp.

This is a versatile design, equally attractive, whether in wools, tweeds and alpaca as a defense against the cold, or in cotton and linen blends for the warmer months or climes. Dress it up with alpaca and exquisite buttons, or make it casual in a tweed yarn with leather or wood buttons.
